Blarney Castle was built nearly six hundred years ago by one of Ireland's greatest chieftains, Cormac MacCarthy, and has been attracting attention beyond Munster ever since. Not all of that has been welcome, as Good Queen Bess and Oliver Cromwell could testify. But over the last few hundred years, millions have flocked to Blarney, making it a world landmark and one of Ireland's greatest treasures.

Monday to Saturday May: 9.00am to 6.30pm
Jun-Jul-Aug: 9.00am to 7.00pm
Sept: 9.00am to 6.30pm
Oct-Apr: 9.00am to sundown

Sundays
Summer: 9.30am to 5.30pm
Winter: 9.30am to sundown

Last Admissions - 30 minutes before closing

The Castle is open for the entire year, except Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Visitor Rates

Adult Admission: €8
Student/Seniors: €6
Children (8-14 years): €2.50
Family (2 Adults, 2 Children): €18.50
Tour Leaders must stay with student groups while visiting the castle, otherwise they will not be allowed kiss the stone.
Guide books are available in French, English and German.

Wedding Parties

Access to the Castle for the purpose of Wedding Photography is free of charge.

Blarney Castle is situated in Blarney Village which is 8 km northwest from Cork city in the South of Ireland.

Directions from Cork Airport
From the Airport follow the signs for the City Center.
From the City Center follow the signs for Limerick (N20).
Travel for 7 km; exit left (signposted Blarney).
Arrive at Blarney.
